The Huahong Tangyue, nestled in the heart of eastern Zhejiang, is a unique architectural marvel. Surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the sea, the mansion's design is a tribute to nature. The designers have ingeniously incorporated the natural elements of "mountain, water, nature, and architecture" into the space, creating a serene environment that resonates with the beauty of the outdoors.
Zhang Lijuan and Yang Song have taken inspiration from traditional oriental design elements to create a space that seamlessly integrates traditional culture with the spiritual needs of modern life. The result is a space where one can experience the beauty of modern Chinese elegance in contented contemplation.
The mansion's unique properties lie in its design and realization technology. The space is dominated by an elegant black-white-gray palette, complemented by the warmth of walnut wood. The gray marbles lend a solemn and elegant look to the floor, harmonizing with the ink painting in the space, creating a 3D landscape scroll. The use of hollowed stainless steel screens on some walls and columns adds a rich hierarchy to the space.
The open layout of the mansion allows the garden landscape to be displayed more reasonably in the interior space. Combined with floral embellishments, the natural scenery becomes a flowing clue in the space, infusing it with a fresh and natural charm. The screen at the entrance creates a sense of vague anticipation, while the transparent water drop-shaped decorative chandelier visually heightens the space, making it seemingly not so oppressive.
The designers faced a unique challenge in this project. Their clients were culturally educated elites with independent aesthetics. The designers had to engage in an equal dialogue with them while seeking a breakthrough point in trending aesthetics. Despite these challenges, the designers have successfully created a space that is a testament to their creativity and technical prowess.
The Huahong Tangyue is not just a mansion; it's a celebration of oriental aesthetics and modern living. This design has been recognized for its excellence and innovation, winning the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2022. This prestigious award is a testament to the designers' outstanding expertise and innovation, and their ability to evoke positive feelings, amazement, and wonder through their design.
